Sera's Strip Sin, Looks soild IMO
Hey guys, this is my first time posting a Sin build... or... any build at that.
Shoot me if this build has been posted before (searched and couldn't find anything relevant), but I've been using this build since GWEN came out in Hero Battles (although this build is epic phail there, I enjoy playing it).
Anyways, I call this a Strip Sin
A/P
Attributes:
15 Critical Strikes
12 Spear Mastery
[skill]Dark Apostasy[/skill][skill]way of the master[/skill][skill]Assassin's Remedy[/skill][skill]Critical Defenses[/skill][skill]Critical Eye[/skill][skill]Vicious Attack[/skill][skill]Barbed Spear[/skill][skill]Disrupting Throw[/skill]or[skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
**not sure why way of the master is not appearing correctly, however its description reads:
For 60 seconds, while holding a non-dagger weapon, you have an additional 3...27..35% chance to land a critical hit.
Weapon Sets:
Sundering Spear of Enchanting 15 w/ enchanted
Offhand of Devotion w/ Faith is My Shield (Armor +5 w/ enchanted)
Vampiric Spear of Enchanting 15 w/ enchanted
Offhand of Devotion w/ Faith is My Shield (Armor +5 w/ enchanted)
Ebon Spear of Enchanting 15 w/ enchanted
Offhand of Devotion w/ Faith is My Shield (Armor +5 w/ enchanted)
Zealous Spear of Enchanting 15 w/ enchanted
Offhand of Devotion w/ Faith is My Shield (Armor +5 w/ enchanted)
Note on Weapons:
-Sundering is standard for starting out- switch into when not in battle and when low on health.
-Vampiric for squishies
-Ebon for Warriors
-Never have to use Zealous unless a mesmer wants to e-deny you
Armor:
Head:
- +1 Crit. Strikes
-Insignia: Radiant
-Rune: Sup Vigor
Chest:
-Insignia: Blessed (Armor +10 w/ enchanted)
-Rune: Major Crit. Strikes
Hands:
-Insignia: Survivor
-Rune: Vitae
Legs:
-Insignia: Survivor
-Rune: Attunement
Feet:
-Insignia: Survivor
-Rune: Attunement
Total Health: 525
Total Energy: 33
Total Armor: 70
Total Health While Enchanted: 570
Total Armor While Enchanted: 75
Critical Ability:
15%, 33%, 15%, 12%*
15% from Crit Strikes
33% from Way of the Master
15% from Critical Eye
*12%* I may be wrong here, but I am under the impression that you have roughly the same amount % to critical with any weapon as you do attributes invested in the weapon? Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Total: 75% chance to critical
Usage:
Simple, do not immediately put up all enchantments (as that will waste usage and timing), but start out with way of the master, and critical eye, then put up Assassin's Remedy and before engaging put up Dark Apostasy and target as necessary (depending on usage).
This build can Strip anything clean and blow a prot monks energy out his --- (sorry... but it's true).
IMO this build has the most pressure in the game and is EXTREMELY efficient, it can survive, get rid of its own conditions and spam non-stop without ever running into energy problems (if you're at least somewhat competent of the build).
I would love to run this in a GvG guild, however I'm guildless atm and I doubt any guild would let me run it.
If you run it in a GvG this would rape. All you need to do is train targets, depending on the opposing team. Train squishies and as soon as a monk puts guardian or aegis on them, switch (if it's aegis keep training until you strip it, or aim for a front-liner -deep wound scares monks-)
The build offers lots of pressure and the damage ranges between 27-54-90's depending on crits and skill usage. Vicious attack almost ensures a fast deep wound, along with the pressure of bleeding. Disrupting throw is just leetsauce, however if you're going to take this build into Random Arenas, then resurrection signet is the way to go =).
One great thing about this build is its efficiency, it has the ability to easily remove its own conditions (assassin's remedy). Coupled with Critical Defense's it makes this build a BEAST, 75% chance to block attacks is Amazing, especially considering if you run the build right, you never have to put it up more than once.
Cons:
Hexes... Price of Failure, Spiteful Spirit, Reckless Haste
Guardian/Aegis
Kiting
Enchantment stripping
Pros:
Survivability
Enchantment Stripping
Heavy Pressure
Ranged Attacks
TYVM for reading my post =). I hope it includes everything required. If anyone has questions of comments, feel free to post!
And... if my build sux and is horrible, then forgive me for wasting your time. I found it to be a solid build, but then again I'm a scrub, eh?

I believe the DA build has been discussed elsewhere in the Gladiator box.
DA is a very good elite. But the SA build outclasses it in many ways. Until they nerf SA (which is a pretty dumb move), I don't think that build can see play.

It's because the skills in 'Guru haven't been updated since the release of Nightfall. No PvE-only skills (other than Cap Sig), no EotN skills and any skills that were nerfed/buffed since NF release haven't changed.
As for your build, it looks pretty good, it's a cool idea. But to be honest, I would rather play SA for the unblockable Enchantment removal and pretty strong dagger chain. Also, I'm just not that fond of gimmicks. Assassins use daggers, not spears. :P

the build works im sure, unfortunately the GF/WS/SA/Impale combo is like 10000x better. I can see an a/p being viable if spear attacks ever get a boost.

If you want to go way of the master Sin, A/R full interrupts are okay, A/P are really subpar (tested it), and A/D Way of the Fox are brutal killing machines.
If you want to make a Critical sin, the scythe is really the most powerful weapon to take.

this is about enchant removal, not interrupts, nor lots of damage.

That's epic. I saw a build similar to this in RA yesterday (happen to be you? O_o), it was excellent.

This is the only build I run in RA besides b-surge, been working it out and tweaking it until I came with this.
Other elites I've tried have been Way of the Assassin and Siphon Strength, although I like DA best though because it eats through any bonder, and just puts a lot of pressure.
Fought three monks in RA yesterday, if you train targets right (switch as soon as one has 'guardian' up or gets too far away and starts kiting), then you can drain their energy in no time.
*monk puts up 10e prot spirit*
*sera strips it*
*monk puts up SoA*
*stripped*
*monk puts up Guardian*
*Switch targets, lead with deep wound, follow with bleeding then switch back to targetting monk- guardian is finished, and you can pressure monk as he wastes prots on the person you deep-wounded and caused bleeding*
TY for the responses, I appreciate them, and if anyone finds something/anything that would work well with the build then post the skill, please.
